The wall then angles into the gallery and features two photographs, one showing a nighttime cityscape and one showing a starry sky over a rugged landscape. Switching to the right side of the entryway, two small text panels on the wall thank the exhibit's content contributors and list the exhibit's accessibility features, including tactile objects with Braille, a tactile kiosk with Braille and audio description, and a QR code to this descriptive tour. To the right of these five object cases is a large reproduction of a stylized painting of an electric bulb, along with quotes that explore the complicated, conflicting, and changing feelings people have had about artificial lights. Just beyond this photo, the wall angles into the gallery, where a series of five pedestal display cases explain how changes in lighting technologies through time led to today's illuminated night skies. The left half of the planet is in darkness but is studded with pinpricks of light from cities. Next to the introductory text panel is a four-foot-square photograph of Earth taken from space. Higher up on the wall, large text asks the question: "How much light at night is enough?"īefore we dive into detailed descriptions, let’s get an overview of the entry space, starting with the left side of the entryway. Yet there is hope-there are simple things we can do to reclaim the stars." But light pollution from artificial lights has made our nights brighter, affecting natural ecosystems and human cultures. For billions of years, life on Earth has danced to this cycle. A text panel on the left wall reads: "Day and night. The first section of our tour, just inside the rotunda entryway, introduces the exhibition’s main messages. The carpet is dark gray and the overall light levels are low, but bright spotlights illuminate objects, images, tactile elements, and interactives. Different sections of the exhibition use accents of pink, purple, yellow, orange, light blue and green on wall text and panels. At the top of the doorway, a semicircular band bears the exhibit’s title: "Lights Out: Recovering Our Night Sky." Inside, the gallery walls are painted dark gray, dark blue, and black, reminiscent of a night sky. Let’s begin our tour starting at the entrance from the second floor rotunda walkway that overlooks the taxidermy elephant.Ī tall doorway leads into the darkened gallery. Each thematic section includes a brief description of the space, a summary of the content, and detailed descriptions of key images, objects, or tactile elements in that section. This tour divides the exhibit gallery into nine thematic sections corresponding to big titles on the gallery walls, and takes you through them one by one. If you enter from the side facing the Constitution Avenue staircase, walk through the exhibit to the other entrance. The tour begins at the entrance from the rotunda walkway on the second floor. This visual description tour was developed to make the exhibition’s key messages, images, and objects more accessible to visitors who are blind or have low vision. The exhibition is located on the second floor of the museum and primarily features large photographs, as well as objects, some tactile and interactive elements, and a theater with a narrated program.Īccessibility features in this exhibition include tactile objects with Braille, a tactile kiosk with Braille and audio description, and signs at each entrance with a QR code to this descriptive tour. The player needs to go through 88 of the 100 levels to rescue Peach. However, Princess Peach is taken to World 18. The 100 levels are divided up into 19 worlds. Each time one of the first 18 worlds is cleared for the first time, some course parts are unlocked. It has Challenge Medals to collect that come in handy for accessing the 19th world. The Super Mario Challenge (called Challenge Courses in the Coursebot) is a challenge mode containing 100 levels. A similar feature named Yamamura's Dojo would later be included in Super Mario Maker 2. The editing mode of the game also includes Yamamura's Lessons, an interactive tutorial guided by Mary O. Stages made in this way have a special icon marked next to it. Players can also send unfinished courses to other players, by way of Local Play, and they can team up, or collaborate, on stages. The courses also include medal objectives, in which the player must fulfill certain criteria, such as collecting every coin in the level, to earn a medal. It is also possible to play stages from the Wii U version, though not every stage is compatible with the 3DS version due to version differences, such as the removal of Mystery Mushrooms and Big Mushrooms from the 3DS version.Įxclusive to Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, the game includes 100 new courses designed by Nintendo pre-installed. The game includes almost everything from the original Wii U release, with the exception of the Costume Mario and Big Mario forms and searching for courses by code. 9/20/2023 0 Comments General grabber x3 reviewUSGS staff will estimate current and historical domestic water use using census records, average per capita water use, and aerial photo analysis to assist in identifying exempt (unregulated) uses including lawn or non-commercial garden watering and small-scale industrial uses. Water Use - Water-right and current/historical water-use information will be obtained from the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer and water purveyors located within the study area. The map will provide insights about generalized groundwater-flow directions, horizontal and vertical water-level gradients, and the gaining/losing stream reaches. Potentiometric-Surface Map - A potentiometric-surface map will be constructed in the Rio San Jose Basin based on data collected during this study. Hydrogeologic Framework - The interpretation of the hydrogeologic framework of the Rio San Jose Basin will be based primarily on existing maps of surficial geology and the lithologic information from drillers’ logs. Hydrochemical data will be collected to define groundwater-flow paths and provide estimates of ages of water. Synoptic sets of streamflow measurements will be made during low-flow and high-flow conditions to delineate gaining/losing stream reaches, which will be used to calibrate the groundwater flow model. During Phase 2, an integrated hydrologic flow model will be constructed and calibrated as a tool to simulate the flow system and potential effects of water-use and climate scenarios on groundwater and surface-water resources in the Rio San Jose Basin. During Phase 1, existing and new geologic, groundwater, surface-water, and hydrochemical data will be compiled and evaluated to characterize the flow system. The objectives will be met by conducting the study in two phases. The proposed work will provide a better understanding of the nation’s water-resources, assist the stakeholders in the Rio San Jose Basin in evaluating various water-management options, and support the USGS mission of disseminating water-resources information to the public. This project will provide the Pueblos of Acoma and Laguna with quantified estimates of water availability and use in the Rio San Jose Basin and the ability to simulate the hydrologic effects of water-rights settlement options. The sidewall is really stout for a two ply tire and is plenty for my type of use. I was surprised at how much better my truck performed when dropping 6lbs of rotational mass from each wheel. The Dick Cepek EXP has a tread design that's close to the ST Maxx and the overall performance is very similar but without the weight penalty. If I did hard core off-road trails they would have stayed on my truck. They are heavy and I could really feel it in the overall performance of my truck. They still ride pretty stiff, but not as bad as the KO2'S. The St Maxx probably has one of the best tread designs on the market, low noise, great off-road traction, good wet weather performance. They were very abrupt and rough riding (34F/30R psi). The KO2'S were ok, but really sucked in anything that even looked like mud and the wet weather traction really got bad after about 25k. I have had KO2'S, ST Maxx, and now the Dick Cepek EXP all in E load. 9/19/2023 0 Comments Ireader c6Convert DRM Free eBooks to ePub/Mobi/AZW3/PDF/TXT And with no exaggeration, it really works like a charm.Ģ. The Salomon S/Pro 130, Salomon S/Max 130 and Salomon S/Max 120 models, which with their stiff to very stiff shell are primarily designed for optimum power transmission and precision, are aimed at sporty to very sporty drivers. Basically, the S/Pro shoes are more suitable for riders with medium to wide feet, while the S/Max shoes are more suitable for riders with narrow feet. In order for everyone to enjoy this feeling as much as possible, the S/Series shoes are available in a whole range of variants. Salomon's S/Series boots offer the perfect solution for skiers looking for performance without sacrificing comfort, helping to ensure that the next blast moment will not be long in coming. The easy and quick adaptability puts the crown on the whole. The seamless liner also contributes to power transmission and comfort. In combination with the Sense Amplifier technology, it ensures a progressive and precise turn initiation, a faster edge change and acceleration at the end of the turn. In order to improve power transmission, Salomon has come up with a completely new design for the new Salomon S/Max and S/Pro series: The core of the shoe has a thinner housing with a built-in frame reinforcement, the so-called core frame, which not only makes it lighter, more agile and more sensitive, but also provides an improved ground feel and optimized power transmission to the edges. The result: the series Salomon S/Max and Salomon S/Pro But that's not enough for the Salomon team and that's why they came up with something for the boots to make the blast-feeling even better on the slopes. The X-Pro and X-Max ski boot series were among the most powerful and best fitting ski boots of recent years. The weight of the shoe also plays a role, because the heavier the equipment, the faster tiredness sets in.Īctually, Salomon had already solved these requirements quite well before. But of course a ski boot shouldn't sit too tight either, because if you have pain while skiing, you are unlikely to enjoy the described feeling of enthusiasm, but rather suffer intense frustration. The more compact the boot is and the better it is constructed, the better the control of the skis is. There are a number of reasons for this: The ski boot transfers the power from the body to the ski. However, as everyone knows, even the best skis are useless without the right boots. The challenge: Combine power transmission, fit, lightness To make this feeling available to skiers of all classes, from beginners to experienced skiers, Salomon launched the S-Race and S-Max ski series last year. What is it that attracts us to the slopes every year? For the French ski boot and ski manufacturer Salomon, the answer is clear: it's the simple but thrilling adrenaline rush that comes when we start our first turn on groomed slopes, the acceleration, the inclination and power when riding on the edge, the flow from one turn to the next and the risk and speed involved. 9/19/2023 0 Comments Turbo boost switcher appThis is controlled by hardware, but if you want your computer to live long, better keep it as low as possible. After approaching it in various ways, abandoning each attempt, one day he painted it out altogether, declaring "I can't see you any longer when I look," and soon abandoned the picture. Stein claimed that she sat for the artist some ninety times, and although that may be an exaggeration, Picasso certainly wrestled long and hard with painting her head. One can almost sense Picasso's increased interest in depicting a human face as a series of flat planes. In contrast to the flat appearance of the figures and objects in some of the Blue and Rose period works, the forms in this portrait seem almost sculpted, and indeed they were influenced by the artist's discovery of archaic Iberian sculpture. This portrait, in which Stein is wearing her favorite brown velvet coat, was made just a year before Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, and marks an important stage in his evolving style. Gertrude Stein was an author, close friend, and even supporter of Picasso, and was integral to his growth as an artist. As he matured he became only more conscious of assuring his legacy, and his late work is characterized by a frank dialogue with Old Masters such as Ingres, Velazquez, Goya, and Rembrandt. Picasso was always eager to place himself in history, and some of his greatest works, such as Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907), refer to a wealth of past precedents - even while overturning them. His encounter with Surrealism, although never transforming his work entirely, encouraged not only the soft forms and tender eroticism of portraits of his mistress Marie-Therese Walter, but also the starkly angular imagery of Guernica (1937), the century's most famous anti-war painting. Picasso had an eclectic attitude to style, and although, at any one time, his work was usually characterized by a single dominant approach, he often moved interchangeably between different styles - sometimes even in the same artwork. This too would prove hugely influential for decades to come.
